NEARBY GOLF COURSES - ALAMOSGRAMACHOMORGADOPALMARESPENINAPINTAVALE DE MILHO

Hole 1 - 136 Metres - Par 3
Do not underestimate this par-3 opener. The wind plays a big factor to club selection with danger at the front via a bunker and a fierce drop-away at the back of the green. Be certain to check the pin placement of the day, as the green is the longest on the Course at 36 metres! Possibly a club
difference from back to front.

Hole 2 - 348 Metres - Par 4
This slightly dogleg left requires a driver that hugs the left side as the fairway slopes away. You are left with a short to mid-iron into a green that slopes from back to front.

Hole 3 - 403 Metres - Par 5
The first of five par-5 Holes at "Alto Golf". Fire your tee shot between the bunkers left and the water right. If successful, here you are left with an uphill approach shot guarded by bunkers. Be warned that if you try for the green in two strokes you may well have a sand-iron in your hand for the third shot!

Hole 4 - 321 Metres - Par 4
Position of the tee is vital! You must avoid the bunker and place the ball down the right side to gain good positioning. On your second shot be careful not to be past the pin as the green has a vicious slope from back to front and it will require a testing two putt from any golfer.

Hole 5 - 427 Metres - Par 5
Either hit the drive from the tee with a fade off the bunker or a well-struck fairway wood down the tree line will suffice. From the fairway you can reach the par-5 in two. Take caution though as there is an Out of Bounds left.

Hole 6 - 377 Metres - Par 4
Stroke Index 1, and this Hole is worthy of the honour. Select placement over power from the tee and aim down the right side of the fairway. This should leave you with a long iron uphill approach shot to a narrow target - good luck!

Hole 7 - 188 Metres - Par 3
The first of three tremendous golfing Holes to close the front nine. A long iron will be needed here or possibly a fairway-wood for some players as this par-3 is some distance.

Hole 8 - 293 Metres - Par 4
Placement would be advisable on this Hole. A long iron to the left of the fairway bunker will leave you a short iron to an elevated green. This has a slope running down the middle from back to front. Make sure your second shot is in 3-putt land.

Hole 9 - 362 Metres - Par 4
A fairway-wood from the tee is recommended. On the left you have a bunker and Out of Bounds, and on the right you have trees that will welcome any ball faded too much. The green is similar to Hole 8 and has a tricky ridge down the middle. Find the correct level in two and you will not be far
from the pin.

Hole 10 - 351 Metres - Par 4
Although there is an Out of Bounds down the right-hand side you must not be intimidated as this is the ideal side to choose. A long iron down the right will leave you a mid-iron second shot to an elevated green - club selection is vital.

Hole 11 - 120 Metres - Par 3
Back to back par-3s, Holes 11 and 12. The first one is straight downhill so it plays shorter than it measures. A club difference from back to front to a generous target. However, if missed the bunkers are ready and waiting as they surround this cut and prepared grass.

Hole 12 - 124 Metres - Par 3
Similar in length to Hole 11, watch out for the pot bunker short as it cuts well into your target.

Hole 13 - 402 Metres - Par 5
A drive straight over the trees allows you to attempt to get home in two! If your games is not up to this, play short of the trees and then left of the water as this results in the best angle for your third shot. The green is elevated and a wide second shot will be punished by the surrounding trees. Even if you hit the green a two-putt birdie is no certainty as a huge tear runs through the centre of the green. This is a quality par-5 that has it all - enjoy!

Hole 14 - 247 Metres - Par 4
Placement is the key once more. A long iron down the right will be rewarded with a short pitch to another elevated target. The green is long so check the pin placement before you play your 2nd shot.

Hole 15 - 361 Metres - Par 4
Pull out the driver and let it fly. Aim between the monument and the trees on the edge of the right side of the fairway. Once over the hill you will see why everything falls away to the left. If you want a birdie your approach must be spot on for length. Again the green owns a huge tear that runs through its heart.

Hole 16 - 589 Metres - Par 5
Only 589 metres stand between you and the Hole at this test! The tee shot must be down the right avoiding the water at all cost. A straight second shot with a long iron or a fairway-wood must follow. If successful, your pitch shot must be on the green as there are bunkers short and a fall way long.

Hole 17 - 124 Metres - Par 3
A small target which is slightly raised and guarded by bunkers and nasty slopes. Try your best not to miss the green.

Hole 18 - 510 Metres - Par 5
The final Hole and a par-5 that is no pushover. Fire away with the driver down the right side. Placement is vital on the lay up if you are going to make a birdie. Find the top of the ridge and the centre of the fairway. From here you will be able to see all the green that is guarded by just one bunker front left.
