Hole 1 - Par 4
A great opening par-4 hole. A drive uphill plays to the right side encouraged by
a bunker and a barrier of olive trees on the left. Second shot is uphill which
tends to fall short of the green. However, playing long will be rewarded by a
steep rear bank to the green running the ball back. The green is large and
undulating to test putting skills of most players.
Hole 2 - Par 5
This hole is destined to become a "signature hole" of the course. The fairway is
dished so that erring shots will tend to run back into the centre. The second
shot will for most players will be a matter of judgement to reach the dog-leg to
the right thus avoiding the lake also on the right. The approach to the green is
not easy with bunkers and pine trees in play. The green is a bowl open only at
the front and to lakeside on the right.
Hole 3 - Par 3
A mid-iron club will carry the lake but it needs to be accurate due to groups of
trees and fontal bunkers.

Hole 4 - Par 5
This is a straight hole lined by trees and a fairway littered with inviting
bunkers. The green is set in a slight bowl guarded by bunkers and any shot
running over the green will collect in a hollow, giving a testing pitch shot
back onto an undulating green surface.
Hole 5 - Par 3
A steady par-3 hole with a bowl between tee and green. A depression to the left
in this bowl will leave short hits with a tricky approach shot.
Hole 6 - Par 4
A long testing hole with the second shot uphill to a testing green protected by
frontal bunkers. Some players may be content to play this hole as a par-5 with a
positioning second shot.
Hole 7 - Par 5
Groups of trees add protection on both sides of the fairway which is almost a
dog-leg to the right. The green is slightly raised and balls can run off on all
sides into hollows requiring a true putt to hole.
Hole 8 - Par 4
A short dog-leg to the right but long hitters will tend to play for the par as
trees provide hindrance. The elevated green should provide no problem to the
average player and provide a good chance of a par for a high handicap player.
Hole 9 - Par 4
It appears as a fairly straight forward hole but well positioned bunkers and an
undulating green surface can add to the shot count.
Hole 10 - Par 3
At first sight this is an attractive open faced hole. However, players scoring
par will leave the hole with a satisfied smile.
Hole 11 - Par 4
With distance sea as the view from the tee the fairway has some tempting bunkers
placed very strategically to attract the ball. Having reached the green surface
players are faced with some testing undulation to prove their skill.
Hole 12 - Par 4
A dog-leg to the left hole with a large lake on the right side. There is a
tempting landing area for the first or second shot but a little too far and the
ball is in the lake. The green is full of subtle slopes which will put to test
putting skills.
Hole 13 - Par 3
Playing from elevated tees across a gentle valley to a green set below makes a
great par-3 hole. The trick on this hole is to "carry" the bunkers but the two
tier green will present some problems.
Hole 14 - Par 4
A slow uphill hole set in a valley shaped fairway helping wayward balls to run
back to the centre. Once again an undulating green will test the ability of the
player.
Hole 15 - Par 4
The first shot from the tee is to clear the rough and avoiding well placed
bunkers. The dog-leg to the right is lined by olive trees but accuracy is
required as bunkers block the green and it is two-levelled to add to the
challenge.
Hole 16 - Par 4
Another dished fairway running wayward ball to the centre. A bunker on the right
at 230 metres is worth avoiding as it will leave a testing approach shot. The
green is another question - putts from back to front being fast, from front to
back being slow, and from either side being sloping.
Hole 17 - Par 5
This is a spectacular hole and qualifying as another "signature hole". As the
player stands on this tee their view is panoramic with the bidos lagoon, sea,
mountains, forest and the resort. The tee shot gives the choice of a narrow
fairway with an out-of-bounds ravine on the left, and an equally out-of-bounds
forest to the right. The second shot is downhill to the dog-leg left with the
ravine once again laying its part. The third shot is again downhill to the green
set on a ledge on a hillside. To add to the challenge is a well placed bunker
and the threat of a further 30 metre run if the ball overruns the green.
Hole 18 - Par 4
Yet another challenge awaits the player on this last hole. The drive downhill
must be sufficient to reach far enough to see the dog-leg to the left. From here
there lies a river running in front of the green with a bunker protecting its
right side. The green is equally as testing as most others on the course. |
